The regime and Russia continue to bomb northwest Syria, targeting schools, hospitals and civilian neighbourhoods. Since the offensive began in April, 835 civilians have died, including 201 children, and 500,000 people have been displaced. The White Helmets, Syria’s search and rescue organisation, have lost seven volunteers to airstrikes.

Though the UN Security Council has called for an investigation into attacks on hospitals, little has been done by the international community to stop the bombing and protect civilians. In the face of Russian claims that bombings haven’t taken place, it is up to civilian journalists to document atrocities. This video was filmed by Merna Alhasan, a reporter from Idlib who visited the neighbourhood of Ariha after it was hit with days of airstrikes.
